What I Wore Wednesday– Floral Tunic for Summer

Floral Summer Tunic with belt

Floral prints are everywhere this season, have you noticed? I actually picked this tunic up from our local thrift store, and I just love wearing it. The lightweight fabric makes it the perfect spring-into-summer top

Would you believe it? These BRAND NEW shoes were also from the thrift store! And they’re SOO comfortable. I wore them all day, and they were more comfortable than my running shoes.

I have a feeling this was some kid’s dress, way back when, but I love that it still works 🙂 What vintage items have you repurposed lately?

What I Wore Wednesday: Spring Boho Floral

Gypsy Pants

Sometimes you just see an item on the clearance rack, and you think, “these are a fashion risk I just HAVE to take.” My whole family decided that it would be a good idea to spend some of our vacation inside Spokane, WA’s Macy’s, and, lo and behold, they were having a 50% off clearance sale.

And I saw these spring floral pants. They are soooo soft, they feel like cheating, like someone allowed me to wear pjs to work. I’m very into Boho Florals lately, and so I decided to take a risk.

Especially when I saw that they were $8 (!!!). Marked down from $60.

And, because CA weather likes to mix things up, we went from all 95+ degree weather last week to low 70s this week. So I grabbed one of my favorite slouchy over-sweaters. Most of the classrooms I teach piano in are pretty cool to begin with, so I like to have some sort of sweater or shawl.Gympsy Pants with shawl

I love that when I walked in after work today, our 5 year old foster child came up to hug me and said, “Wow! You look GORGEOUS! Way to go!” Haha. My 5 year old approves. Success.

What fashion risks have you been taking lately? Are you loving all the spring boho florals out there as well?

What I Wore Wednesday– Boyfriend Chinos

Boyfriend Chinos with belt and white shirt

True confession time: I’ve had these pants for over 4 years, but the front button fell off and I never mended them…until now! In the process of packing (we’re moving, in case you missed this post!) and cleaning out closets, I found my “to mend” pile in the closet and attacked sewed a few items.

I’d forgotten how much I used to love them! I remember when I bought them at the Gap in downtown Dallas 4 years ago during a huge sale. I think I must’ve only paid around $10 or so. Don’t you just love it when you find old clothes and they still work?

What I Wore Wednesday– Navy Polka Dots

I would never have thought to pair mint green and navy blue, but you know what? This totally works. And I like it, surprisingly! It was a fun spring outfit and made me glad that I experimented. The red belt is my newest favorite find from Goodwill.
