I’m just too excited not to post this. It’s much cuter in person, but you can kind of get the idea. My favorite parts: The wood burning fireplace, the 2 sink huge master bathroom, all the bar space at the kitchen counter, the GIANT closet in the spare bedroom (it’s ginormous, 10×7!!) and the little window over the stairwell. The garage also has extra space for a workshop. I think we are going to make it into a beer-brewing factory for Jesse??? We’ll see 🙂
And We’re Moving…!
Okay. So I know it seems like we just moved. But we are moving again, only, not very far. 2 buildings away, in fact. There were many reasons that spawned this, but the biggest is one that you already know about if you’ve been reading along. We are paying a lot more for our unit than we need to be. In fact, the apt./townhome that we will be moving to is 125 sq. ft bigger (1311 total) with an attached garage. And a beautiful, and I mean BEAUTIFUL view. Jesse and I happen to like trees.
Oh, and it’s $150 cheaper/month.
So, we signed the paperwork yesterday and voila! We will be moving to our new place at the end of July! I hope we never leave- seriously, I don’t know where we’d find something this nice with so much space, all for less than $1000/mo. Yay for home sweet home for a long time!!
Here are some pictures so you can see- granted, they were taken with my camera phone, but hopefully they give the idea.
New Coffee Table!
Today, as I was taking out the trash, I noticed a coffee table that someone had set near the dumpster.
I couldn’t believe it. How could someone be throwing THIS out? It works so well with our decor! Plus, we were getting kinda tired of balancing two plates and two glasses on our small “mirror cube”. As you can see in the picture, Jesse was using it as a laptop desk tonight.
This is probably my best deal ever, right next to my $15 table/chairs set.
Porch Update #2
I finally got a love seat for our porch! It’s from Pier One and I got in on Craigslist for cheap. Michael and Jesse gave it a stamp of approval after they watched the Dodgers on a laptop and smoked cigars tonight in one of the converted Garden Offices in our yard.
It did mean that I had to move my shelf (I was worried that it would blow over if I placed it against anything but the one solid wall) into our storage unit. This meant that I also had to re-organize the packing boxes in the storage unit. Granted, it was about time. Our moving boxes have been haphazardly shoved in there for six months, which really has been a tragic waste of lots of good space. So good came from having to move the shelf. Plus I now have a place to store all my new gardening supplies!
But it did mean that I had to move my herb garden indoors, since I no longer have anything to set it on. Luckily, we have a kitchen window which gets a good amount of sunlight. Plus our herbs should be near where we cook, if and when we ever decide to use them. Right now, ripping off leaves seems a little anti-thetical to my mission.
