What I Wore Wednesday– Styling A Maxi Skirt

March 18, 2014 10 Comments

What I Wore Wednesday Maxi Skirt 1

It’s ironic that I wrote about Mom Modesty on Monday, then decided to wear a maxi skirt today. It was pure accident, I assure you. I just think that maxi skirts are one of the most comfortable things to wear during the spring!

And don’t judge the hair. I was busy cleaning the house and taking pictures of our boys’ owl nursery.

first of all, thank you for this post! I went shopping today and found a few skirts I want but I just wasn’t sure on how to style a top with them. Now I can go back (since I didn’t buy anything today) and keep this post in mind 🙂 second of all, I’m short!! Can I just roll the skirt and it still look okay? what are your thoughts?

Whitney, I’m glad it helped! I think whether or not you can roll it depends entirely on the brand of skirt. Some have wide elastic waistbands, so even if you rolled it, you’d still have the ability to do a high waist. Target’s skirts are consistently the best for price AND durability! I got some other maxi skirts from a no-name cheapo store at the mall, and they’re see through after a few washes!

Yay for maxi skirts! They truly are yoga pants for the everyday wear. I never know if it’s ok to tuck tops into foldover maxi skirts like yours but I think I can pull it off! The thicker belt is the key I think. Plus a chambray matches with anything 🙂

Yes, thicker belts are better! They don’t cause “bulge lines” 🙂

I like the belt too! I’m in love with my navy blazer for spring. It just helps keep the chill away while looking crisp and chic.
