So You Think You Can Dance had a few SPECTACULAR moments last night. If you haven’t seen them, you need to.
This first one is a piece inspired by those who are battling Breast Cancer. It was great- by the end of it the dancers were crying, the judges were crying, even the audience and choreographers were crying.
Talk about extremes, but the routine right after that one was an excellently executed “Zombie and his Mistress” hip-hop routine, which was inspiring, but in a whole different way.

thanks for posting that first one Kell. since we have had class we basically missed the entire season. it was sooo hard to not just break down into tears at my desk (this stuff is dangerous to watch at work!). such a precious piece. thank you.

Yep. I loved that first piece too. Ade is my least favorite male dancer on the show (I was sad to see Jason leave, though the two of them were my bottom two guys) – that’s not to say he’s the least talented dancer, i just haven’t seen/connected with a personality at all. He always tends to fade into the background for me and I overlook him. oh well, maybe this week.
I kept getting distracted in the second one (when i watched it last week) b/c her costume pretty much looks like it was made by (significantly) editing the uniforms we had to wear in elementary school. (Courtney, tell me you see it too!) It’s like they took our uniforms, submitted it to one of the fashion ‘reality’ shows on Bravo, and then gave it to SYTYCD for a routine. About as bizare as the idea behind this dance. 🙂
I think it was a good routine, but it was a bit jarring after the breast cancer one…though i felt sorry for ANYONE having to follow that one.
Thanks for posting, Kel!
