Momiform– Polka Dots and Uggs

November 11, 2013 14 Comments

Lately, I’ve been feeling so “blah” about my hair. I just want to shave it all off or get another pixie cut. When I start feeling like this, Jesse tells my hair dresser not to answer my phone calls for a while, at least until the impulses fade. Whatever. I know where he keeps the scissors.

Until then, I will continue my relationship with the “mommy top knot” which I swore would never become my everyday hair, yet has, time and time again. I’m trying to work on these holiday hairstyles I recently pinned. Also, this outfit totally breaks these rules.image

What are you talking about, Jesse. This pose is totally normal.

Last Mother’s Day, I was given this wonderful necklace from Lisa Leonard Designs. I absolutely love it. She’s local too! If you need great Christmas gift ideas, look no further than her adorable little shop.

In case you didn’t see on Instagram, this past Sunday I wore Uggs to church underneath my skirt. I didn’t even tidy the bathroom up before this shot. This is how you know I’ve really “given up” lately.

Is anyone else out there feeling like they’re in a fashion rut? Where Uggs and Top Knots dominate the scene like two toddlers having a tantrum at 6pm in Walmart?

I think the top knot looks cute! (Says the mom who wears one all the time, too…) And I gotta say, that necklace is just adorable!

Hahaha, I totally just chopped a good 7 inches off of my hair so it would be easier/faster to do in the mornings. I did the post-baby hair hack pre-baby to save time. I even told my hairdresser, “I don’t want it to look like I cut off all my hair because I just had a baby, but that’s exactly what I’m doing. Make it look intentional and not lazy.” 🙂

It was fun reading about parenting from someone a bit older than myself. It gives me a good idea of what I should be aiming for! Thanks for stopping by 🙂

Hopping over from the Mommy Monday Blog Hop 🙂 I love your honesty, if more people would be like that, the world would be a better place. As a mama, I know we can’t always look amazing and polished like before pre-baby. And there’s nothing wrong with that. For me it helped finding a momiform like you put it, that always makes me feel good about myself, even on bad hair days and when you just feel like wearing UGG’s. Before I became a mama I always said I would never wear them. And while they pull even the most wonderful look down, they are so comfy and warm, I lived in them last Winter and actually got people being jealous because they looked so easy and warm to wear! And your top-knot looks pretty good to me, it suits you!

    love from Belgium,

    Cindy

Cindy, you’re so sweet! I always swore I wouldn’t, and did pretty well after my first, but then after the second….fashion is hard to come by nowadays 🙂

I think you and your top knot are super cute! I believe I fell off my fashion game like 11 years ago…
From time to time I get back in and then fall off.
I’m currently in a 365 Thrift Challenge– so I can only buy thrift store. You can find some pretty nice things in the thrift store I also go to thredUp you can find new and gently used things there at affordable prices http://www.thredup.com/r/TYGHYB
