We decided to spend our Memorial holiday at Moonstone Beach in Cambria. Just a half hour drive away from us, this beach is one of the best. Beautiful views, rarely crowded, sand and tide pools for the kids…plus, the weather was a perfect 70 sunny degrees with a breeze.
Jesse and I also love this beach because it’s partly responsible for our relationship. We had a youth group gathering here 11 years ago, and there was something about the way he was playing guitar in the sunset…we started dating less than 3 months later…and the rest is history, or something like that.
Shirt: Forever 21/ Lace Racerback Tank: Target/ Loose Fit Boyfriend Jeans: Express/ Hat: Styles For Less/ Sandals: Gift from Hawaii
With 5 boys (our 10 year old brought a friend along), it was quite the noisy adventure!
What did you do to commemorate the holiday?

That sounds like an amazing way to spend the day. I’m still recovering from a weekend party, believe it or not. Playing hostess wears me thin. We spent time outside, I got some time behind my camera and had mini photo shoots with the kids. Then we grilled out. Simple evening for us. I also reflected on the meaning of this day, as a Veteran and as a person who knows someone who has made the ultimate sacrifice.

Good for you, taking time to reflect. This day is a hard one for me, as I have two younger brothers serving right now (Army and Navy) and can’t bear to think about losing either one, or what that would be like.
