Since we’ve moved into our apartment, I’ve been struggling trying to figure out how to decorate the wall above our bed. Since all of the walls in our apartment are painted a light tan (I do admit that it looks nice when contrasted with the white crown molding) I am trying DESPERATELY not to paint. It’s hard to describe this IRRESISTIBLE CRAVING I get for painted walls. I have to pinch myself and remember just how miserable it was re-painting our first apartment in Texas back to it’s original tan-ness at 4 am in order to avoid a fine. Of course we got fined anyways, which makes it even more painful to remember.
“My brushes are closed. My will is strong. I DO NOT NEED TO PAINT.” (name that movie? Anyone?).
I’ve decided to use this as a challenge. It’s like decorating with two hands tied behind your back and your eyes closed.
So I decided to embark on an art project that I saw on my friend and fellow blogger’s site. Friday was the perfect night since I was babysitting for a family in Southlake. One of their 4 children happens to be really artsy, and so before heading over to their house I stopped by Michael’s Arts and Crafts and bought all the supplies for around $30. We had a blast putting them together, and by the time the parents got home they were dry and ready to hang!
