Last Saturday, we handed over the keys to our house. I’ve been quiet about our selling process, simply because there wasn’t much to report just like the last time. But if you really want to know where we get such great prices for our house then just contact 2nd Chance for cash for homes in Ontario California.
This time as our house was in a completely different location, we were a little worried as to the number of applicants which would come our way.
We ran everything by a few realtors in our area, and they were all stunned and amazed that our house hadn’t gotten any offers. We priced it below market value, and it looked amazing. I mean, AMAZING. And I’m not even being haughty. We even brought in furniture to stage it properly. Click here for fair, simple and hassle free way of selling your home.
After a few weeks, we started discussing the possibility of renting out our house and waiting to sell. We were running out of time and patience, plus we had already decided to rent in Texas, so continuing to build equity sounded appealing. “Selling our house” was inexplicably not happening, and if there is one thing I’ve learned about God and His providence, it’s that he closes doors and leaves no room for doubt (as in, not even a lowball offer to tempt us). I’ve also learned that whenever I’m trying to shove a square peg into a round hole, it’s better to abandon the course of action. We found out at HouseBuyerNetwork.com how to sell the house quickly and hassle free.
2 weeks ago, on a Monday morning, we put an ad on Craigslist. We held our breath. We wondered if we were doing the right thing.
By lunchtime, we had 2 applications. My phone and email blew up with interest. By Wednesday’s “Open House” we had 4 amazing applications in hand. All four had high 700s credit scores. All four had monthly income of 3-4x the rent. And all four were begging us for a chance to live in our beautiful house.
Talk about going from a completely closed door to a wide open one! Less than 10 days after posting the Craigslist ad, we were handing keys to the new tenants. It was an exhausting 10 days, to be sure. Packing up one’s house, cleaning it, turning off utilities, and getting it ready for tenants is a huge endeavor. We were also finishing our trailer during this time, so let me tell you– we were EXHAUSTED.
But it happened! Our stuff is packed, waiting for our Upack crate to come and haul it to Dallas. We are living with my parents for a few weeks while we fit in a few vacations, camping trips and even a wedding. But we are more than 75% done, and it feels good.
The last day, right before we gave our tenants the keys, we took the boys over to the house to have a “goodbye party”. My 3 year old has had a hard time with loss and change lately, so we knew that the little ceremony would be good for him (and, I’ll admit, it was good for me too!).
Here are two videos of us saying goodbye.
“Blue House”, we will miss you for the time being, but we know we found the right people to take care of you 🙂
