Saturday, we decided to go spend a few hours at the Greek Food Festival hosted by the Greek Orthodox Cathedral here in Dallas. It was just a few miles down the road from us, and Jesse’s school gave us free tickets and some food vouchers, so it seemed like an obvious choice for some weekend fun. I love being in a big city, where there’s always something new to do or explore!
What we DIDN’T count on were the THOUSANDS of people that would be there on a Saturday afternoon/evening. We were picturing something mid-state fair big, not Disney-Land-on-a-holiday big. We were able to get some amazing lamb and pork and watch some Greek dancing, and then it just got too crowded for me to even breathe (I have a severe aversion to crowds and get pretty cranky!). In fact, the only place we could find enough room for us to stop without being shoulder to shoulder constantly, was right under the awning to the opening of the cathedral. So we took off early.
But, before it got crowded, the festival was quite a sight! The church is absolutely stunning and the food was some of the best I’ve had in my life. Here are a few pictures! And if you’re ever visiting Dallas in the Fall, make sure to stop by one of these!

Yes! The Greeks know how to cook, that’s for sure!
