Veterans Day– My Little Brother

I don’t know if I’ve mentioned this before, but I have two brothers serving in the military. My youngest brother is about to graduate from his ROTC program and enter the Army. The other one, who is only 1.5 years younger than me, has been serving in the Navy for the past 3 years.

Because he is a nuclear technician, they have him “underway” on a submarine for 2-3 months at a time. We don’t hear from him for months (not even email), until they resurface and get a week of leave in some foreign country.

Even though everyone in his life currently knows him as a tough guy who runs the submarine, in my memory he will always be my close buddy-almost twin, or the guy who always comes up with the best jokes and makes us all laugh until we cry.

I can’t wait until his service is up and he can visit his nephews (oh, and me!) whenever he wants!

And, in case you were looking for a good blog hop to participate in today, join this one! Last night, I started getting emails saying, “Congrats on the feature!” and that’s how I figured it out :)

    1. I was totally going to make fun of you for wearing a fanny pack until I saw my get up. How drunk were mom and dad when they dressed me in that train wreck.
    2. Thank you for that (even though your blowing my cover as a tough guy). I can’t wait to be able to see more of my nephews… and I guess a little bit of you too.

I was going to make fun of my own fanny pack, but then I saw your outfit, and thought, how do you even explain a parental decision like that? Miss you.
