This morning, after G’s now-customary Pear Slaughter and subsequent bath (he may need some table manners training soon!), he was back in his high chair for more cheerios. I was eating and working on my laptop at the table next to him.

All of a sudden, he said, “Done!”

I didn’t respond.

“Done!” he said with more urgency.

“Okay, okay, you’re done, I’ll get you some more.” I said, grabbing the cheerios box without looking.

Only then did I realize that he had just spoken to me, and I had responded. Like it was a normal everyday conversation or something!

So…this new baby better get here soon, before I get too sad about Gregory turning into a little boy!
