For the first time in 4+ years, I do NOT have a gym membership. I repeat, NO GYM MEMBERSHIP.
And yet, I feel like I have more options than ever before, all for free and from home! As a Mommy, this is fantastic news, no?
Guys, meet Cassey Ho of Blogilates. She will be your new best friend. While some of her workouts may have cheesy titles (I actually get a kick out them), they will MAKE YOU HURT. I don’t think I’ve ever experienced tougher ab workouts. I actually read an article about how certain NFL football players use her videos, because nothing else gets them stronger.
Best of all, her videos are all free on her Youtube channel. I mix and match different 10-13 minute video segments to create anything from a 30-40 minute workout per day. Cassey is my secret friend, and Blogilates is my secret weapon.
If you’re a guy and you want to “bulk” up (aka, my husband, who just dead-lifted 275 pounds yesterday and teaches weight training), you probably won’t appreciate the arm and leg workouts. But the ab workouts? My ROTC brother who works out constantly and runs 5 miles through the snow every morning found them super challenging.
Thanks to Cassey’s Blogilates, I now weigh less than I did in junior high school. Less than I did in college. Even less than when I had hyperthyroidism after G was born. It wasn’t out of control weight loss, just 1-2 pounds per month.
It does have something to do with the fact that I cannot eat anything with gluten or soy, so my options are limited. But I don’t “diet”, by any stretch of the imagination. In the morning, I eat two big bowls of oats doused with brown sugar. For lunch, I eat an ENTIRE box of rice mac and cheese (this is a 10 year habit, so tough to change!), and for dinner, I eat 2 large pieces of chicken along with whatever sides we’re eating. And don’t get me started on all the new yummy gluten-free cookies we’re learning how to make!
So diet is not the only reason. Blogilates is a major factor. I love that I have something this helpful right at my fingertips at home. Every day, I put the boys down for their nap and fit in 30 minutes. So simple.
Since Cassey has HUNDREDS of videos, here are my favorites, broken down into a weekly schedule. Try them out! While you will hurt in places you didn’t know existed, you will thank me!
Monday: ABS AND ARMS
1. Arms on Fire— this one is basically 10 varieties of pushups, all to work various parts
2. Abs on Fire— KILLER. I wasn’t even able to finish this for over a month.
3. Muffintop Massacre— I did this yesterday, and I’m soooo sore!
Tuesday: CARDIO– Usually a brisk stroller walk with my boys! Cassey also has some cardio videos, although I haven’t personally tried them.
Wednesday: LEGS
1. Drive-by Inner Thighs Challenge
Thursday: CARDIO
Friday: ABS AND ARMS
1. Arms on Fire
2. Abs on Fire
3. Back on Fire
Saturday: CARDIO and LEGS

I LOVE blogilates! Seriously, though, I have kinda cut back because they hurt so much! I hate it when I am super sore – and she says, “Now only do it 5 more reps!” AH! Haha.
